A Thousand Sages

Its dome is a small example of the universe. The essence of the monument is the representation of the celestial dome that we find at the basis of endless envy like all legends. Standing under the dome is like standing under the universe. Even though everything in the world is transitory, this monument has never had a single expression and meaning for centuries following the time when the Nefs-i Istanbul rose in its domed shape without moving as a concrete example of the glory of God. Bringing together the wisdom and all the information in its name, the narratives that have been written and drawn so far, will not bring us to the final image and meaning of Hagia Sophia. Thinking of these indicators together and approaching them with successive layers in the period considered in terms of its evolution can only be the beginning. And if there is a city citizen in Istanbul, it is Hagia Sophia. It is a world masterpiece that we can embrace every day of its 1500-year old, and whose plural history and layers are equally valued and placed.
