A book I read (Minyatür Sanatı, Özkan Eroğlu) says - If the sensation is high, it means abstraction is also active. In fact, what is essential in miniature is the abstraction of the emptiness painted with aesthesis and the idea that void is the main sign of existence. The element is often the one who breaks away from the psychological cosmology of the artist. The artist creates the elements in the work with the help of the unconscious, and they produce these formations with the struggle to find a place in the void. We cannot separate whenever abstract painting from the figure, we deal with the feelings of the artist. Undoubtedly, it is the spiritual dimension that strengthens abstraction, not ordinary senses; the pursuit is deep feelings and being able to be felt with these feelings. Presenting this to the audience as an emotion map is a current technique.
This passage is a familiar statement of my technique of creating. Therefore, the usage of space in my compositions can have meanings.
In the painting, you can see the void in an erect skyscraper, within the city, and the air.
I used the void to represent a masculine desire, so I named it a fertile void. Fertile Void means futile fertility. The surface color that gives the space is abject. It certainly winks at a dark world. The trees are enormous but in pots. We can not know if they have got their fertility in a small pot or if it's artificial. Dolls are like that, too. They seem to fall slightly instead of flying away. So is it a painting, an illustration, or a miniature? This manner is always skeptical. There is no abundance of emptiness. On the one hand, for example, since the miniature painting is an old document, the power, namely the noble family, proceeds with an aesthetic. The horror vacua, the fear of the void, winks at this to some extent. The technique of stacking elements, namely figures, in miniature, is designed to fit in the space left after the calligraphy, the written text, on the one hand, and this is a tactic developed to keep the viewer and reader's full attention on the subject. Any gap created in the composition gives the viewer the courage to think about the interval and comment, so a stacked pile of elements conveys a piece of information without indirect meanings and completes their task.
I first imagined the Fertile Void while passing by in a cab near the Mahal Izmir construction site. I had not been in the city for a year, and when I noticed the structure, I asked the driver. He told me when they finished skyscraper would be the tallest structure in Izmir?! Without permission. I reacted with wow and continued - instead of balloons at the opening, it would be appropriate for them to fly sex dolls. It was a silly joke I made from nowhere. But we laughed a lot.
